Chrome/Edge v 124 has issues rending images
Incident Report for Xyleme
Update
We are still waiting for Chromium to deliver the fix. The ticket we reported to them seems to indicate there is a fix; it was "cherry-picked" for a release this week, but the status is still set to Assigned. https://issues.chromium.org/issues/335857343.

We'll let you know as soon as we see it in production.

Identified
We have identified the issue.

This version of Chrome and Edge ( v124) has an issue with some of our CSS code. We load all the images on a page at once. You may have noticed how images fade in once the page is loaded. Our team has submitted the issue to Chrome, and we hope they can resolve it quickly.

Unfortunately, any solution from our side would require updating your output templates and republishing content to remove the image load behavior. That seems impractical at this point.

We have also reproduced the issue in newly published test content in Syndicate. However, given our testing and feedback from at least one customer, that is not common.

As a temporary solution, users can force the images to load by simply resizing their browser window.

We're sorry for the inconvenience. We'll continue to monitor the situation and update you as we know more.

Update
The issue appears to be limited to Preview and Review. Our testing on published content in Syndicate has yet to surface the problem there.

The team is continuing to explore the issue.
